This activity doesn't require individual skills but it demands your motivation to overcome all difficulties.  One of the aims of those workshops is to discover the Moroccan culture and history and compare this to yours.

Key Information:
Class Size: 2 - 10 people
Destination: Safi, Morocco
Category: Art and craft workshop
Specialty: Ceramics/pottery

In this project you will get in touch with the Moroccan artisan techniques to work pottery. You will learn how to do pottery articles from working and preparing the earth to decorating the articles. If you wanted to dive into the Moroccan culture, this is the perfect opportunity for you to do so.

Our adult pottery courses cover all the basic techniques such as coiling, slab methods, thrown pots and sculpting in clay. Various decorative techniques, including graffito, slip-painting, under glazing and glazing are taught.

The courses concentrate on three-dimensional art – sculpture and pot-making, with an emphasis on technical skills development and artistic exploration. Classes are designed to be relaxing and fun, without the pressure of academic qualifications, but with all the support and educational guidance needed to develop good work and gain experience with clay. Students are encouraged to experiment and to develop their own styles and techniques.

All our courses suit beginners, enthusiasts and professionals, using a wide range of facilities and techniques. The pottery includes electric and raku kilns, stoneware and earthenware clays, and we teach throwing, hand-building and all varieties of glazing.

For those with experience of ceramics, we can expand and develop your skills, sharing hints and tips for throwing or glazing and experimenting with new materials – paper clay, porcelain, engobes and on-glaze enamels. Whatever your prior level of experience, our Pottery school aims to tailor the course to your needs.

TOURIST AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

After classes are over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture and customs. Our optional cultural and social activities allow you to make new friends among participants, experience cultural activities together and practice your new language skills in real life situations.

These are the first things that come to mind when speaking about free time. Participants will probably be interested to visit some local art galleries or museums, see the sights, get to know the local countryside/seaside, etc.
Being
a participant is a chance for you  to get to know the country "from the inside", and experience more than a normal tourist.

Every weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday, a choice of excursions and socio-cultural activities is offered - all optional. Some people do everything, every weekend - others pick and choose based on what interests them

At the weekend many participants can arrange to take excursions to local cities or local places of interest. These excursions cost between ($10-$40), as they are normally full day or full weekend excursions and could include (transport, meals entrance fees and even accommodation).

Participants will stay in a singel room in a shared appartement with the same gender or with a local host family.
